мадонна: Extremely Rare Collectible Items  Label Profile Record label located either in Kaliningrad or St. Petersburg, Russia. Its releases are all unofficial, and available mostly through Polish record sellers, based on that some people suspect that they are actually manufactured in Poland The name буд кон, sometimes printed as one word: будкон, translates to BUDKON, but has no meaning either in Russian or Polish. буд кон has released hundreds of releases by various different bands, since at least the 1990's, maybe in the 1980's, when Russia was still part of the Soviet Union. The label name is most commonly rendered in roman characters as "Budkon," less often "BudKon" or "Bud Kon." Item Description All буд кон titles releases are flexi discs, single sided and mono 45rpm, square-shaped 14cm x 14cm (5.5" x 5.5") and released as multicolored releases: transparent, red, green, yellow, blue, and brown. At least three variations (one transparent and two colored versions, sometimes three colored) are released. Very limited amount of each title, like several dozen copies, maybe even less. The label is a laser printed transparent sticker attached in the middle of the disc The sleeve is a black and white computer printout, usually highly pixelated, and a completely random image having nothing to do with the band or their music. The thin paper sleeve wraps around the flexi disc about a third of the way up the back, held in a thin plastic envelope The sound quality of these recordings is flat-out awful. The flexi discs that occasionally came with Mad magazine in the 50s and 60s sounded like, these are worse. Noise overwhelms signal, pitch is warbly, frequency range is minimal, and the discs don't lie flat. Definitely not recommended for use as stylus that you value, but definitely an amazing rare collectible item! Language notes and translation Neither "Budkon" nor "Bud Kon" means anything in Russian or Polish, but there is apparently a construction company called Budkon in the Polish town of Szczecin. In Polish, budować = build, budowa = building; konstruować = construct, konstrukcja = construction - so the construction company name makes sense. In Russian, the situation is less clear. The буд- root seems to have something vaguely to do with work (будничный = workaday), or futurity (будущий = future). Конструкция = construction, just as in Polish, but кон- is a pretty common prefix Phrases below appear on either the discs themselves or their photocopied paper sleeves:
